A Quick Question...

The following questions and answers are for informational and general purposes.  The information does not constitute legal advice, and you should consult with a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction before taking any action that affects your legal rights.  Unless otherwise indicated, all information is based upon Missouri state law.

What type of cases do you handle?  What kind of lawyer are you?

I am primarily a civil attorney with a strong background in litigation.  My experience in the courtroom lets me work with clients to prevent problems and avoid litigation when possible involving a broad range of issues, especially in the areas of family law, small business law, and consumer debt defense.

How much do you charge?

Fees vary depending on the type of case.  Generally speaking litigation matters including family law and consumer defense range between $275 -$350/hr.

Some work, such as drafting contracts or setting up businesses are billed on a flat fee structure depending on the type of work.

Still, other cases may be taken on a contingency, meaning, that we will not get paid until you recover.

What's the law on...

1.  Should I be an LLC or a Corporation?

Missouri is different than most states because there is not a specific cap on consumer interest rate charges as long as the agreement is in writing.  There are a number of notice requirements under state and federal law that may apply, which if not followed, may limit the amount of interest that may be charged.

2.  Can my business partner do that?
